USA Hangs On, Beats France 100-97

Team USA closed out the Group A preliminary games on Sunday with a 100-97 victory over France. Despite resting Tony Parker, France led a convincing comeback against Team USA in the second half from the dual threat of Nando de Colo and Thomas Huertal after the US held a double digit early in the third. In the first half, newly teammates Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson carried the US. Durant went 4-4 in the first while Klay got going late in the second half as finished with a team high 30 points. Though the US won, France held their own and kept it a close game. Even with the close finish, Team USA finishes undefeated in Group A preliminary games and will be the top seed for the quarterfinals.
