The nation's capital, Washington, D.C, has been named Bon Appétit Magazine's restaurant city of the year. The award comes as no surprise to natives of the DC area, who have always recognized DC's hidden treasures and eatery's.

Some of restaurants, which were mentioned included local favorites such as Silverman’s (now four-star) Pineapple and Pearls, Eric Ziebold’s Kinship and Alex McCoy’s recently closed and relocating Alfie’s. This bestowed honor just shows how much D.C's culinary scene is reaching new heights.
