D.C-based sculptor Bryan Davis successfully held the attention and “fight or flight” reflexes of anyone who walked into his interactive exhibit called Try and Try Again. Visitors can use one of four black brooms to putt ping-pong balls into a mouse-sized hole, at which point a compressor shoots it up through several feet of pipe. The ball then rolls down a gentle incline, ending up behind a screen showing images of a fair weather sky. In the final step, your ball joins a pool of balls that get shot out of a hole in the screen, ending up covering the floor, or hitting a patron standing in its path.
Unfortunately, the Try and Try Again installation closed earlier this month, but we are excited to see what Bryan Davis comes up with next.
