4. #FREETROY aka CHEDDA AVE

Social media's running joke and or punching bag for the year has been Meek Mill, but as of late things have been looking up. He recently won Billboard's "Rap Album of the Year" and dropped an "All The Way Up" remix featuring Fabolous to rave reviews. Now it is only right he comes to the aid of, who seems to be, the new running joke, Troy Ave. During the holiday weekend Meek posted the aforementioned picture of Troy Ave with a caption detailing how he felt about the recent matter. Recently, Troy ave was charged with murder after his bodyguard died following a backstage shooting at a TI concert. Troy Ave could be seen on camera shooting a gun. In similar fashion to Cheddar Bob, Eminem's dumb friend in the movie 8 Mile, Troy Ave shot himself in the leg, leading to his hospital visit. Meek feels it is not what it seems like and we should support Troy, who is being held without bail until his trial.

1. CHANCE THE RAPPER SHARES THE ORIGINAL VERSIONS OF BOTH "WAVES" & "FAMOUS"

An early frontrunner for verse of the year is Chance the Rapper's verse on Kanye West's "Ultralight Beams." Many are aware Chance was instrumental in the entire Life of Pablo project by Kanye. What many do not know is Kanye cut out a lot of Chance's input. For example, the gospel feel and elements of a full choir on "Ultralight Beams," was also on waves but Kanye took them out. He kept all Chance's sample track verses, but had them sung by Chris Brown and took out all the other elements from Chance's initial track. Chance had been letting out little blurbs of the original on Snapchat but in a recent interview on Beats 1 with Zane Lowe, Chance let fans here the demo tracks for both "Waves" and "Famous."
