Desiigner's debut hit "Panda" has officially dethroned Rihanna and taken the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 list.
Desiigner's hit is the first debut to top the chart since Iggy Azalea's "Fancy" in 2014. The New York rapper is the first in seven years to hold the No. 1 title from the Big Apple, with the last one being Jay Z in 2009 for his collaboration with Alicia Keys on "Empire State of Mind."
He is also the first U.S.-born act to top the chart since summer 2015 saw Wiz Khalifa and Charlie Puth's wildly popular hit "See You Again."
The rapper is on the G.O.O.D. Music roster and got a boost from Kanye West's co-sign and sample of "Panda" on "Pt. 2" on his "The Life of Pablo" LP.
