Closed Sessions is commemorating a year of amazing bartenders, brands, restaurants & venues that have helped to raise thousands of dollars for charity in the past 12 months.  Sharing the Rough is an award winning documentary that captures the never before seen process of the journey of a colored gemstone from mine to market, while exploring the challenges of an emerging mining economy in East Africa. Since it's theatrical release began in September of 2015, Sharing the Rough has been traveling from city to city inspiring audiences across the country with its rare beauty and insight into the world of a gemstone and all the hands it touches along the way. 3/12: SHAMROCKFEST

 ShamrockFest is America’s largest St. Paddy’s Day festival, where thousands shake their shamrocks to Celtic rock bands. It’s pure shenanigans where the beer flows strong and everyone is Irish for the day. 3/12: YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS’ THEATER’S 2016 GIVING VOICE AWARDS

Young Playwrights’ Theater (YPT) will honor Shakespeare Theatre Company Artistic Director Michael Kahn at its 2016 Giving Voice Award Gala. The event will benefit YPT, with funds supporting the DC-based nonprofit’s free arts education programming and professional performances. Celebrating DC theater’s past, present and future, YPT’s 2016 Giving Voice Award Gala will feature an open bar, a catered reception with passed hors d’oeuvres, a unique silent auction and a dance floor worthy of YPT’s signature blend of “eclectic elegance.” Guests will have a chance to mingle with Michael Kahn, take photographs on the red carpet, watch inspiring student speakers and bid on packages.
