The co-founder of Vampire Weekend, Rostam Batmanglij, has decided to depart from the popular group. According to MTV News, Batmanglij made his announcement via Twitter, stating that he will be separating himself from VW to pursue his own career.
As stated before, Batmanglij was one of the original founders of Vampire Weekend, lending a hand as both a guitarist and keyboard player. The band was originally founded in 2006 at Columbia University in New York. Batmanglij also recieved production credit for all three of VW's albums, whil also managing to write for big name artists including Charlie XCX, according to the report. Although Batmanglij has departed, he will still continue to make music with VM as a separate entity.
