There is so much cool talent in the district, and Work Crush Wednesday is our way of spotlighting those whose work we’re admiring and making heart-eyes emojis at.
This week, we feature architect and designer Abi Kallushi. After moving from her native, Albania, at 15, Abi attended University of Maryland and studied architecture. She admitted that it all started with her Visual Studies in Architecture elective class, and it ended up being "the most fun game [she] has ever played." Now finishing her masters at a local Virginia Tech campus, Abi is "exploring how architecture can help our hearts and minds heal by reconnecting us with the natural rhythm of life." She plans to design a sleep disorders clinic, located at the gas station by the 9:30 Club, along with an absinthe and night studio space across the street.
