"Chiraq," the latest Spike Lee Joint, has Chicago native Chance the Rapper heated due to the portrayal of gang violence in his hometown. The film which was inspired by the Greek comedy, "Lysistrata," debuted this weekend in select theaters.

The satirical musical drama centers Nick Cannon as Chiraq, who is the leader of an affluent gang in the Southside of Chicago. His main lady, Lysistrata, who is played by Teyonah Parris, wants the gang wars to come to an end due to the violence that has been inflicted upon the innocent children of Chicago. She comes up with the idea to end the violence on the street by getting the women of the city to withhold sex from the men of Chicago.

Chance the Rapper stated his disapproval of the film through his Twitter account on Dec. 4, the day the movie debuted in theaters.
