One-handed Florida basketball walk-on scores his first points of season

December 23, 2015

BY STERLING G.

Florida guard Zach Hodskins scored his first points of the season on Tuesday night in a 89-65 win over Jacksonville. What makes this remarkable, is that Hodskins was born without the bottom part of his left arm.

Watch the video of Hodskins below:

Florida coach Mike White remarked on Hodskins' remarkable feat.

"Really happy for Zach," White said, according to a Yahoo! Sports article. "He's a great young man. Obviously overcoming an unbelievable adversity, he's a very, very likable young man. You could tell by the decibel level in the O-Dome when he scored. It was a fun moment for our team."

The 6-4 Florida walk-on is no scrub either. In his senior year at Milton High School (GA), he went on a eight game stretch averaging about 23 points per game.
