Ok, now it's just getting unfair. Both the Carolina Panthers (11-0) and Golden State Warriors (19-0) are the only teams in their respective sports to remain undefeated. Just think, about five years ago these teams were both the lowly teams of their respective leagues.
The reason these teams are still perfect is obviously due to talent, but most importantly due to teamwork. Both the Warriors and the Panthers are executing at exceptional levels without an abundance of superstars, Steph Curry and Cam Newton being the only exceptions.
In the case of the Warriors, who won the NBA championship last year with rookie coach Steve Kerr, they have been without Kerr this season due to his back ailments. Yet, the team is still playing at an exceptional level. Comparisons with the '94-'95 Chicago Bulls have surfaced with some believing that the Warriors may be able to surpass the Bulls' 72-10 record.
With the New England Patriots' loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, the Panthers now remain the only undefeated NFL team. Steph Curry, also an avid Carolina Panthers fan, joked that his team will be the first to lose.
"But hopefully not until like February, so it's a win-win. We'll let [the Panthers] get all the way through their Bay Area Super Bowl appearance," Curry said in a recent Charlotte Observer article. "And then we will eventually lose down the road."
Who knows how long these teams will remain undefeated, but we do know for certain that the Carolina pride is at an all-time high.
