Known for his unique sculptures, New York-based artist Daniel Arsham has added a new piece to his list of projects.
Formed from volcanic ash, hydrostone, and crystals, Arsham’s “broken figure” recently pierced the white wall of Miami beach’s UNTITLED art fair.
This newest exhibit features five separate body parts of a standing female, each sculpted individually, but configured together as an entire human structure.
The sculpture pieces consisted of the figure’s head, arms, and lower legs. The majority of her head and lower body were missing. Each of the extremities are broken down revealing sparkling shards of crystal, heavy sections of hydrostone cement, and volcanic ash.
