With the Syrian refugee crisis still a pressing issue around the world, many have taken to raising awareness.
The mysterious Banksy has become one of those raising awareness with another one of his unforgettable pieces. This time around, Banksy provides awareness to the Syrian refugee crisis by using an image of Steve Jobs. Using an image of Jobs, who was himself the son of a Syrian immigrant, make the message of the mural clear: People who want to ban refugees from entering their country could be depriving the world of the next Steve Jobs.
The painting is located in France’s widely known Calais refugee camp. Upon its release, Banksy captioned his latest piece “the son of a migrant from Syria” on his website. Jobs is represented by Banksy holding one of the original Mac computers in one hand, and a sac-like bag in the other.
