Rikasso is young D.C. artist who has booked the opening reception for his new collection, “The Petal That Fell From The Rose,” at the Anacostia Arts Center on Nov. 21 from 6–8 p.m.
There will be a live painting of a dress done on a model by Rikasso himself. His first look book, along with a special-edition “The Petal That Fell From The Rose” t-shirt, will be available for sale as well.
Rikasso, whose real name is Rik, started experimenting with acrylic paint at the beginning of his art career in 2013. Since then he has incorporated oils, watercolors and spray paints in his work as well.
Rikasso’s paintings are based on inner beauty and wants people to feel something from his art.
“When people look at my paintings, I want them to feel like they’re looking in the mirror,” he says.
Rikasso will also be at Anacostia Arts Center on Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 6–9 p.m. for The Bethany House Fundraiser doing a live painting.
