After three and a half years as Christian Dior's artistic director of women's haute couture, ready-to-wear, and accessory collections, Raf Simons has decided to part ways with the esteemed French design house. According to WWD, Simons "reached this decision for personal reasons". Typically, a designer will have one last catwalk on the runway, but unfortunately he will be leaving the company without doing so.
Apparently, Simons and Dior could not agree about the designers contract, though sources say the split is amicable. "It is a decision based entirely and equally on my desire to focus on other interests in my life, including my own brand, and the passions that drive me outside of work," Simons said in a statement. "Christian Dior is an extraordinary company, and it has been an immense privilege to write a few pages of this magnificent book."
